I just replaced the bulbs in my ceiling fixture with fluorescentlight bulbs. I noticed last night that each one would flicker, once every few minutes, taking turns. The switch is set to off though
You can't use just any fluorescent tube (bulb) in some fixtures. Some fixtures require a particular type. It should tell somewhere on the fixture. That might be the problem.
I am hoping someone can help. I am replacing my standard light with a fluorscent in my workshop. I made a crtical error and did not mark the wires prior to removing the old light and now have a problem. I have a a line coming into the light fixture that has power and has a Blk/Wht/Copper wire.
Turn off power (duh) and open the fixture. There is probably a black brick of a ballast on the inside with two red and two blue wires, a black, white and green. Cut the wires so you have some about 4" wire on the ballast, then take ballast to Home Depot.
Replaced 2 kitchen fluor. bulbs, still won't light up enough, is there something to replace and how to do it? I'm a novice, do I have to hire electrician??
Is this light on a grounded circuit? I have an identical problem and was told that some fluorescent lights work best if they are grounded. (Mine is an old house with ungrounded circuits.)
