How to Replace a Filter for a Forced Air Heating System
computer-generated transcript - may not be 100% accurate
" Each year, the furnace air filter gets clogged with dust, lint, and pollen. It blocks the flow and increases energy use. The air filter must be cleaned or replaced as recommended by the furnace manufacturer. Here's how to replace your air filter and possibly save up to 5% off your heating cost. Using the emergency switch, shut off your furnace. Referring to the instructions that came with your furnace, open or unscrew the door on the air duct housing covering the air filter. Slide out the old filter. Note the correct orientation of the new filter. It's usually marked right on the frame. Then slide the new filter into place and secure the plate in place with screws or, in some cases, just simply close and latch the door. Turn the emergency switch of the furnace back on and your furnace is ready to go for another season."
