How to Repair Chipped Corners in Drywall
computer-generated transcript - may not be 100% accurate
" Damaged corners are easily fixed. By following a few simple guidelines, you can create a finish to be proud of. Nicks in the outside corner of a smooth plaster wall are easily repaired. Spread a drop cloth to protect your room. Remove any loose plaster from around the hole. Vacuum away the plater dust and wipe the area down with a damp sponge, and then use a small putty knife and joint compound or spackle to fill the damaged area. Work from one side and then the other. When dry, sand with 120 grit sandpaper vacuuming the dust as you go. Next, dampen the area with a wet sponge and apply compound to any remaining imperfections starting at the corner and feathering out to the wall. Once dry, touch up with 200 grit sandpaper and you're ready to prime and paint the repair to match your existing wall."
