" And joining us now, Tim Woods from the Internet Home Alliance to look at some of these web-related gadgets. Let's start off here in the living room, alright?"
" Right. This is our Panasonic home entertainment system."
" Wow. That's a beauty."
" It is. It's a beautiful picture. And what makes it really unique is something called digital light processing. It's a semiconductor, and it has about a million micro mirrors on it. So then, no matter where you are in the room, the picture quality remains a frame."
" This is a projection TV."
" Yes, it is. It's hard to believe because it's so thin. It really is a thin TV."
" From any of the angle that you look at it, you have very good definition."
" Oh, it's wonderful. Now, what's interesting about that is we also have to flip into our DVD player, and just having 1 of your favorite shows."
" Oh, I love [unk] Bridges of Vermont."
" Isn't that beautiful?"
" Yes."
" Now, what's laid about this TV, the HCTV, it's also tied into our surround sound stereo system."
" Okay."
" So, where's this aspect ratio of the screen? You get that theater quality and you also the theater sound, and the depth of the sound is kind of chilling."
" Listen to that."
" Yeah. It's pretty good. Now, the other thing about this is we're tied into our huge network system direct TV, which is coming in off the satellite."
" Alright. So the only cable here is the twin set and the satellite."
" Right. Because we're just getting everything digital quality off of the satellite."
" Wonderful."
" Right. Last thing, on the floor, we've got a Panasonic e-cam, which if you go over to the kitchen, I can show you what that is. Right over here is the Panasonic tough book. We've got where we were----"
" Uh huh."
" and we've got the upstairs bedroom."
" Okay."
" But what's great about this camera, this e-camera is that you actually set them up, and then you set up a home page on the web."
" This is totally wireless stuff."
" It is. It's still wireless. That's part of our Cisco internet system."
" Okay."
" But what's really cool about this, if you see this home page right here. You set up a home page on the web, and you can go to this no matter where you are. If you can get access to the web, you can get access to this camera."
" To your home."
" Right."
" You can check out the conditions in your home."
" Absolutely."
" And tell us about this, the Cubit."
" This is a Cubit orbit web tablet, and it's completely wireless, another favorite site of yours, I believe."
" That's the only person I go."
" And you can actually search the web. You can do e-mails from the tablet. It's great. It's very convenient, and again, the Cisco internet system is tied into this. So literally, you can go anywhere in the house. You could go out on the front porch and do e-mails. You could even, on the top floor, write a letter and pour it into your printer and print it inside the house."
" You can sit under the trees and surf the web."
" That's right."
" You can be here in the kitchen. You can download recipes."
" Exactly."
" Get inspired."
" Exactly."
" That's great."
" It can give trees if you turn around over here, look at the outside cameras. This is actually coming through the camera system in the house, the wiring, the hard wiring."
" You might just pause as taking a break."
" He's obviously taking a break, yes."
" Working on the [unk]."
" He might have [unk]."
" How does this work though?"
" Well, this is actually coming through the cable system in the house, and you see, right here, this is actually the front porch."
" Uh huh."
" And if we go down, you see the front door. And what's great about these cameras is that they actually work at night very well too. if you had the front porch light on, you'd actually see who's gaining at the front door, so it's a great security."
" That, I like."
" Yeah."
" What else does this do?"
" Well, this is the Panasonic. It's basically an LCD screen so you get that very flat screen."
" Yeah."
" You can put it anywhere in the kitchen that you want. It's got a DVD player in it."
" So you can watch whatever signal you're getting."
" Whatever you want. You got the speakers built in in the DVD players right down here."
