" Now we've got a replacement window already here. Is this a custom order?"
" No. This is here and this is in stock. We had this picture which we made up."
" So the double hung stash are in stock and then we put it together with a custom picture window. "
" Right, right."
" Okay. And is this gonna be big enough for that opening?"
" Well actually, it's a little small but we have a window over here that hooks on to this."
" Oh you've got one more piece, is that right?"
" We've got one more piece that will add on to this."
" Yes."
" And it will look approximately like this."
" Okay."
" And even then we might have a little bit to add in but I'd rather have it too big than too small."
" And this is all made up work by a local mill work, right?"
" Local mill work, right."
" We haven't specified thermal insulating glass."
" No, no."
" To keep the price down anyway after all we're on the back side. We're shaded, we're in Florida. We can get away."
" Exactly."
" Without it."
" Sure."
" What's the cost of the whole unit?"
" Approximately $400."
" About 400 bucks?"
" Right."
" That's not bad. Okay, can I give you a hand with this last piece here?"
" Sure, sure."
" It don't weigh anything these aluminum jars. And it should come out pretty good. Now can we take these to the salvage yard out in."
" Yeah, got it."
" We can probably take these up there and sell these for a few bucks."
" Okay now. All we have in here are a couple of 2x4s, one here and one there. Steve, you think that's enough to hold the roof that's overhead here? Let's take a look inside."
" Alright."
" Well, I don't think these are supporting anything, Bob."
" Yeah. Well this is all original construction. So you assume that when they built the house, they got a header going the whole ten foot span or whatever it is, right?"
" We'll find out when we tear this board off."
" Go for it. Take it off."
" What do you think, Al?"
" Alright! We're in pretty good shape, Bob! You don't see any hollow studs up here. They've got this header off. So we're in good shape."
" Yeah, and we had found up the ends of the hollow wall cavities."
" There would be no header then, yeah."
" Alright! So we can really clean this up now, clean it up."
" We'll put the window and then get ready to set that window in."
" Now since there's no trim on the outside of the window it will be easier to install it from inside the room."
" How's the airway, Steve?"
" Right about there."
" Okay. I've got the ones you've put a couple of shins under it, Steve, and we'll raise it up to the top."
" Okay."
" Okay Steve, that's done there."
" Let's check this margin down here. Now the margin has to be spaced exactly right."
" Yeah."
" Otherwise the window doesn't shut right. Now see how I kept that window shut?"
" Right."
" That's perfect, Steve, now go ahead and nail that."
" And we're just using a what?"
" Finish nails. "
" Did you say 8-penny?"
" A 6-penny snick so we don't split this yellow pine. Right after we get through we can add some real and quick changes."
" Go on right there."
" Okay Steve, that's good. Put yourself some nails in there."
" But Al, are 6-penny nails really enough to hold the window in place?"
" So far inside is great. What's really gonna hold this is our trim on the outside. We will use [unk] tackses outside to get one about five that goes all the way around it. That really gives this better layout."
" That will secure it?"
" Right."
" Okay that's perfect there Steve. Now lemme check this margin down here. That's perfect! Nail it in this corner here. And now we're ready to frame this part it."
" Good."
" Okay."
" Okay Steve, all set, place this in there."
" You gotta go inside first. Out a little bit at the top. That's it. Now screw that together and we're in good shape. There you go. Alright. Just some dry walls through this to put this 2 units together and that's all there is to it."
