" Let's look at the master bath first off I wanna see what they've done towel rack it's almost finished they're still putting finishing touches on it. Isn't that incredible, they probably did have the peacock."
" Alright."
" The Peacock. It's such a great thing in this house I love it."
" Well we borrowed it from the Adamson house but it's been interpreted by the Mexican artisans down there in a very kind of simple way, it's very pretty. And of course you know here we've done a whole bathroom, but you can take one item like that one little mural and put it in the house and make it really special."
" I have a peacock surprise for you later."
" Yeah, really?"
" Mm-hmm."
" And of course we put another one in the shower, glass doors in here but Jim Schneider is here from the Glass Company, hi Jim."
" Beautiful."
" Hi Jim."
" Hello Bob, hi Robin."
" This is beautiful. How do you make this glass that we've got on inside of the window here?"
" Well this glass is ultra glass. We manufacture this glass with a unique European design process that we cut the mold in the likeness of whatever it is you want in this case it's the grapes and the vines."
" Yeah."
" And then we put a piece of flat glass on this mold and heat it up to a high temperature. And when it cools down it kind of slops in, it kind of sags and slops into the mold and then when it cool downs and we pull it out and clean it up and that's what you have. It sounds simple enough but it's just a beautiful result."
" So that it kind of slops in."
" Well it gives us a tactile surface that is very background motif that privacy."
" You got privacy but you've also got the, well this is the same grape and vine that we've got behind the peacock, I was just looking."
" Absolutely."
" Yeah very pretty. Thank you."
" Thank you Bob. Now Robin..."
" Yes."
" Is this blue, this dark blue unbelievable?"
" It's gorgeous I love this sink, it's like old Mexican drip ware come on now I wanna show you the other room. Well Bob, I've had so much fun doing this I hope you like it."
" It's a beautiful room from what I can see so far. Tell me about this, is this an antique chest?"
" No, this is new, hand painted for us in Peru."
" Really?"
" Is this gorgeous?"
" Yeah this is special. Now look at that even inside they hand decorated it."
" Wonderful."
" Very pretty. This is absolutely stunning."
" Thank you."
" I see you've got the same furniture for the bed side table."
" Yes, I have this hand painted Peruvian pieces that have the same detail as the dresser. Now, I had this lamps made for us in Mexico."
" And they're rusty rod iron, yeah."
" Yeah. That's the finish it's like a rusty powder coat."
" Tell me a little bit about all the different fabrics that I see here."
" Well I love fabrics because it gives it texture to a room that you don't get it if you just stick with one particular weave. Now, on this headboard here I made a serious bobo, I feel in love with very expensive fabric. It has that look of old fortuny fabric and I just thought it was so elegant and rich, and yet it's neutral in here. Then I went and had these little linen pillows made by Rosie, who hand stitches this cherubs on here."
" It is. It is."
" This is all stitch work?"
" Hand stitched."
" Magnificent."
" I think it just yummy."
" Yeah, yeah."
" Then this is all 100 percent cotton battenburg all cut out here."
" Mm-hmm."
" And this is unbleached twill that I've used in other places in the house and I wash it in the machine with lots of soap, you should see me getting 60 yards in one machine. And then I let it dry out in the sun so you get that nice kind of loose feeling so when it hangs."
" Right."
" I like the way you hang the curtain too."
" Oh this is all the antique hardware."
" Yeah, very, very effective."
" Which I found in different places and antique rings even."
" Oh look at this I can't believe you found a cushion that's got the peacocks identical to the ones in the bathroom."
" Well it was a stroke of luck I found that needle point, the fabric, and the fringe in an antique market and we had it all put together."
" Yeah. Nice, nice and you say they're the same fabric here on the chair."
" Yes my weakness."
" Boy that's a beautiful outdoor arrangement out there, the terrace, and the pots, the beach and the waves breaking behind you."
" It's gorgeous."
" But I do think that the pallet you've chosen is the best thing you could've done with all this sandy colors. And the architects' specification of that antique finish on all of the built in wood items I think also works very well."
" It's nice, it's this warm aged looked that really gives us that Spanish flavor we're after. But I think it warms that it makes this rooms cozy, if we didn't have this thing it wouldn't be as yummy you know."
" Sure, it's nice that you didn't crowd up the shelves."
" Well, I tried to put like I've shown you in here that were interesting and it also had texture and color. I'm trying to bring the greens in the bathroom into the bedroom."
" Mm-hmm."
" So I've found little things around here that, and my other weakness of course is paintings. So you know where I can shove one."
" Sure, sure. This is the famous couch isn't it?"
" This is the couch that made you nervous. Is this gorgeous now?"
" Yeah, you found this in a garage sell was it?"
" That's right it's the antique Georgian sofa."
" They've totally rebuilt it."
" Totally rebuilt it."
" Very, very pretty."
" It's lovely isn't it? And we have the matching chair and ottoman here."
" And what do you call this stuff?"
" Mop fringe."
" Really?"
" Isn't that lovely."
" Yeah, I know it's very, very nice. And then of course our wonderful, Spanish style fireplace, the mantle, and the brick, and the broken tile, it's all very pretty, yeah. Tell me about his picture?"
" I love this."
" Is that gorgeous. The Dancer by Juan Jose Segura not Mexico, Madrid 1941. Is that gorgeous?"
" Yeah."
" Look at her swing. Isn't she wonderful?"
" Yeah, yeah, it's very appropriate for you."
" Now these are red wings, this is another form of American pottery from the 20's through the 40's."
" Really?"
" That I found which I thought this whole you know movement kind of all it does a little thing on there."
" It looks like shells kind of..."
" Yeah."
" Tell me about the antique desk here."
" This is an early 1900's Spanish California oak desk, which I just thought was the perfect size in here. You could sit here and have thoughts to look at the ocean."
" Mm-hmm. I'll write a letter. And the chair is perfect with it, is it also antique?"
" Antique. I completely rebuilt it and used another linen that I hand washed and put out in the sun to dry."
