Hot Tub Installation

" The conservatory roof has been restructured with LVLs to carry the load of the hot -- the new joists have been covered with three quarter inch tongue and groove plywood sheathing. Next contractor Joe Wagner covers the roof with half inch fiberboard insulation panels that are specially treated to accept the glue for the rubber roof. These panels are held in place with anchoring. Plates and screws. A type of contact cement is then rolled onto the insulation panels. The cement is also applied to the underside of the rubber roofing materials. After the glue has set up the rubber top layer is very carefully rolled over the underlayment. This is done very slowly to keep air bubbles and wrinkles from forming. This is a fully adhered roof and the rubber material is held down everywhere with glue. The contact cement is very unforgiving and you really only get one chance at this. And finally the roof is covered and we're ready for the -- feet. This is going to be a tricky operation. And a crane is being used to lift the hot tub in its packing crate onto the conservatory roof. "
" And the -- spies rapidly approaching your house. Doctor Peter cars for the the first time we've met you on the show how do you feel about that getting the hot tub delivered onto your new porch through this. It's really exciting. The third response -- it clear that -- and I really hope the structural engineer got the calculations just right because. It's a lot of weight that's going up there it is. A lot of weight I think that it's something like a hundred pounds per square foot -- terms of the live load and that we'll add up to something like a ton and a half. But they've done a -- for the job at restructuring that roof so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I just don't recommend any block parties put it."
" And each artist is here from thermos thoughts and Andy why not on crank that thing on the ground and then bring it up here. Well primarily because we're doing a crane operation when you're doing a crane and we do about eight to 10% of them as a crane and actually send somebody out of the house. Do a proper size that we always recommend that with whatever how to think about yep and you want to really protect it as much as possible prior to lifting up -- wooden deck yeah now you guys refer to these as really being custom. Yeah basically you know what the village to the computer industry we're with the confidence that we sold directly to consumers and we custom them -- the -- and it acts. OK well here come the wraps. Why you do quite a job -- packing the thing down to complete 201 thing that's yeah. The beauty of these spas is that they're totally self contained except for the wiring right that's correct you need a -- when evil. Sixty outlined this particular -- so this has already been brought in through the bottom there."
" That's correct they've kind of positioned it. And one of the advantages of the way to insulate as -- open interior allows you to be able the snake it in at any position that you're just putting that wire. And the type of insulation that we use is they. Blanket insulation which is quite different than what the rest of the industry does -- more of a full foam which is adequate for insulation value but it prevents the sort of civility. It's if you same insulation. With the service the building."
" The crew is just finishing up the connections on the control panel before we unwrap the hot tub."
" How much does that weigh -- Without any water it worth a thousand of those 2000 pounds. OK so three guys are. Gingerly letting it back down. And now can we remove the plastic cover. All the rocks. The moment we've been waiting for free they fear. Beautiful there at the hose yeah of course yeah. What do you call this finish. This is they'll lose that -- finish and it has they have Microban. Microban. Anti -- that are built right into it wow now I don't think I've ever looked at an empty one of these. And I don't think I can count that high in terms of how many jets and bubbles and and little gadgets are in here it goes more."
" This has credit here that the typical hot tub would have anywhere between 101520 jets this one has 56 jets and and it has total of four pumps three water pumps and 1 air pump -- we unique part about this is that. We a process that Thermospa calls total control therapy for each seat can be independently operated so that you've got Independent controls like that button right there. Would control that therapy. So you can have four individuals in the hot tub and each person is getting a different type of Hydro therapy again nobody dictates -- with -- to sign me up to committees it has get the hose."
