" Right Steve is notching out the existing. Joist up there -- so that we can fit in the second LVL the first LB those already in place. And being held up temporarily by a couple of doubled up two by force that's the main. Job of holding up the upstairs is being done by this temporary wall. And when we finish doubling up up there will do the same thing on both sides."

" Now Steve do weight bearing part of the whole deck structures right around here isn't it that's correct do you think this is strong enough to carry the weight of this. Upper story know we've pre cut some new floor joists pressured floor joists that are coming in here. Carry the weight of the overhang so that your. Building up the whole area. And we'll have nice solid bearing for both your columns. The food. Problem. Than just add some shims and nail into place went. Homeowner Jim Verity is helping landscaper John for a change from -- they're planning foundation shrubs called burning bush from Warwick nurseries. Ocean state lawn sprinkler is busy installing an automatic sprinkler system. First of migratory plow drags a one inch black polyethylene pipe underground. The plow can install all of the piping in one step without digging up the lawn. Sprinkler heads are attached to the pipe to create zones in the yard. The pipe is Fed to a large PVC to in this area because a brick walkway will be built over it. The black pipe can be replaced or repaired in the future by re threading it through the PVC making it unnecessary to dig up the walkway. Hunter valves will control the zones and provide a manifold system for the sprinkler. The sprinkler system is attached to the water supply with a backflow prevent her from PepsiCo. This keeps the water from the sprinkler system from contaminating drinking water with lawn chemicals if there should ever be a drop in pressure to the system."

" The -- fortune at some point acquired it rod iron railing which is being removed by Brian Wiggins and his helper here. And it's totally inappropriate to the architecture so we're gonna be restoring it as well and right now we've got. Bill Hopkins from Forester moulding who has helped us out night you've recreated what we've got here right yes but how do you take the approach of trying to do the detective -- active. Replace this well it first off we try to scrape some of the paint off -- original. Rail and from that we've -- drawer out different parts of it and as you're -- to look at you can see how it's put together in this case this rail was made up of four different pieces -- a top -- Two side rails and them bottom rail that receives the balusters. So all of that keeps some sort of blade cut yet to create these back rhetoric. -- even on this this house here there are two or three different profiles. So what we did is we picked the one that went the best with what seemed to be original yet. And and we came in and and started with Tony you just take described yes we take we take this template gauge. In just very carefully. Slide it in. And that gives us pretty much. Of that part of the profile. That's the profile that you want to reproduce right there. Which we have the profile there I take it -- and then it goes into our office and they draw this out in a cad program. And then everything is is brought right to size. Checked out and then we make a plastic template. Which becomes the template for the -- And that. I come back here check it exists correct. And then if that's okay thanks goes into the tool room and the knife is made cutting knife cutting and I can make the molding exactly and of course we already have the moldings."

" All right so go right are you going to have to take all of the wrought -- that these -- the posts all the posts in here Bob -- terrible they're into the rock and they're really solid so I can make -- sleeve right going over the wood will fit right over it it sounds like a flat out can you show us how these actual pieces -- of -- have been cut will fit together oh sure. These balusters set inside here those are beautiful government mahogany -- gorgeous yeah and they are such a good fit they're snug. Yeah okay that's upside down but the first thing you'll be doing is putting all of these in place to create a whole length yes well all right. I can flip the -- over. And -- snug at the and those of the side yes. When you -- about. That might you can just slide that right over OK when you're actually building this you'll have a stud in here to -- yes. -- that well that'll be very nice but -- as I understand it before you do any of this work assembling it out -- you want to prime all of -- yeah let's take -- back to the shop prime everything and then I'll bring it back on site -- it sounds like a plan it will work."
