Completing the Miami Master Bedroom

The finishes put the final touches on the bedroom of the Miami condo. The bed is from Nature's Rest and has a renewable latex technology. Vintage finds like the glass-topped dressing table and stool, bedside table, and Saarinen-styled modern table complement the design of the space along with reading lights on the walls. The dressing room area is complete with his-and-her small closets, the separate vanity, luggage space and unpacking station with cubbies. The bathroom is awash in light and color with Vitrus glass tile in the shower and glass doors. Towels by Frontgate, made of 70 percent Modal fiber for quicker, more effective drying, are folded and ready for guests.

" Of the other detailing in the room. That makes so makes the whole thing unified. Our period tables like this Aaron and design table which has a marble top and it's a reissue it's not a real vintage piece. And then we've got other items that are that are interesting like the nature's rest latex technology in the mattress now. They're making latex beds that are you know totally different from the old coils and springs and this is of course a renewal renewable material -- it's just harvested from the rubber trees. And then in this corner. And I also wanted to point out what -- architects chose are very very important also cool but in this corner we've got a vintage glass top dressing table and and bench. Which although you if you put it in a white room it looks greenish when you put it next to this it -- bluish and -- committee lighting from Italy as well as little bands like this a couple of them in each corner of the bedroom. So that if you don't need the AC you can still move air around. Again activity reading lamps by the bedside. Another vintage piece down here this is a raffia table made in Spain maybe twenty years old but you find a lot of stuff like that the that this somehow works. And then some of the detailing in here when we created a new space in new dressing area in between the bath and the bedroom. We've put in smaller closets kind of his and her closets so that if you're coming to your getaway you've gotten -- hang up stuff. And we also created a separate vanity area here outside of the bathroom itself which is always a good plan -- That we two people using two different parts of the whole facility. And of course our wall of cubbies the greens and the blues have a life of their own in the shower which is tiled with a Vitrus glass. One inch square that's really really lively and then of course we've got. The whole bathroom accessorized as well this time we went to frontgate. Which provides towels like these which are 70% mode now which is -- fiber I'd never heard of but apparently it if it works much better it dries you much more quickly."

Butcher Block Table

A butcher block table can help make your kitchen much more efficient: Built to take a beating, butcher block doubles as a functional chopping surface as well as an eating or serving table. Butcher block is made of hard maple, a dense, strong wood that doesn't add flavor to what you're chopping on it. It's cut across the grain so it will wear evenly without warping. Just keep it clean and oil it occasionally; it will last for years.

Installing Wireless Interior Lighting Controls
Installing Wireless Interior Lighting Controls

This 1920s-era house had almost no exterior lighting and not even a place to plug in the Christmas lights. Electrician John Schiavone installed new lighting outlets for the exterior and interior of the home. The lighting fixtures and table lamps in the living room are all operated by wireless control. Ben Wilson Jr. of Lutron/Keyes North Atlantic reviews the features of this system. The control unit has five settings for the homeowner to set, which will control various lights in the house.
