" Let's get started meeting Suzanne tomboy and -- our interior designers from COC here Bob -- ladies -- hey Dan hi I'm great I'm happy to see you. This is the first time you've actually been here with me in front of the camera but you've been working behind the scenes for months right."

" yes absolutely and you know that's really important that we start early in the process because all the product. From the fabric to the furniture. To the window treatment really has a long lead time so it's important that we start early on it -- but -- the role of the interior designer isn't just ordering stuff right. Right I'm typically what we do is we start with the floor plan if you can see here. And then you have a lot of gorgeous. Rugs that you collected in antique furniture so what -- done was -- typed in your existing furniture along with some new pieces."

" When you're working with somebody is over the we already have a good stuff in the background and we're coming from another house so you've helped us. Inventory what we have got to figure out what to use and what dragway flags yeah so we're in our dining room here and you've laid out. The furniture placement. In terms of revenue that we've had forever and it's a spot that includes really only room for. The rug that tables and chairs and where we have a built in hutch. But let's talk a little bit about the colors and things you've chosen for the dining."

" Well on the starting point is you're beautiful area arrived and then from there -- onto this William Morris wallpaper religious very typical of this style. Imperial palace."

" Late 1880s and nine right and I -- to William Morris was this fantastic englishman who. Created unbelievable designs tell me a little bit about -- papers made."

" It's an arts and craft paper in its own intently at the camp blocks and apparently blocks and he has a different colors in every day at different colors put on so it's really an eight day process."

" chose this. Color here this blue which is in the paper and what you've done well we can see right behind you here Christine from the -- dentist inspect the paint. Below the data of the chair rail -- and inexpensive paper on the why -- act that we have large windows to. What about this table looking you've got a picture here."

" Well you haven't selected dining room table but this is what we would recommend this as a neo classical BMI style table. And the scale of it is nice this dining room with more of the cozy scale. In this table will allow you to expand it at least so that for larger dinner parties you can accommodate on the feeding. And then Peter my style chair would look very handsomely affect them and you've chosen fabrics this is really tell us about that. This is -- glazed since fabric and it has -- Asian and teeth on it which is very handsome yeah and the color also picks up the color of the buried in the blame more small conference right."

" Subtle little things like that that really -- room and help -- again until it pulls it together -- that the concept is nice and tight OK well looking back at the floor plan you've taken advantage. As we said a minute ago rugs and I've got. What kind and -- rug actually and refused to around Greece. And you're gonna put that in the front hall and this when we've had forever you're -- put that in the living in them right there now okay. And -- the paper that you've chosen for the front hall is interest think it's again it's it's. It's a William Morris for."

" That's right dry -- what they call his chrysanthemum pattern you can see it's a beautiful leafy pattern is very typical of style and the important thing here is."

" To make sure that you have light woodwork when you're using up."

" Paper like this that's right -- and has it really makes a nice contrasting it keeps it very crash helmet in Spain but I loved the stain because that we chose for the little ideally very --"

" Now in this room. Obviously we've got the proportions from the original house which are not a square but rather a cut off corner with a fireplace and then we've got architectural renovation which includes some details like. It's beautiful library wall that we just finishing up and the new floor that we installed which is essentially an oak herringbone. And tell us a little bit about what your job -- here."

" Bob what we want to create in this room isn't very warm cozy rooms -- feel very comfortable in the snowstorm and -- into. And so we did is we took this mahogany in color red hot and staying on it to make it very rich and enticing. Him and then to the floor we did the same thing we put it. The red mahogany stain which is slightly lighter colors from the front Hawkins and yet."

" And of course mahogany carries around the whole room with the cornice molding problem."

" Bill Walton just got a code of this red paint what happens next well what -- suggesting is doing a parchment finish forestry a finish so it has a kind of on pinkish red look."

" So that involves -- being lured blazing Rhode Island. It. It involves glazing so it brings in -- later the collars so it becomes very rich it's gonna be a special paint -- yeah and then you've chosen some fabrics as well."

" That's right this is also very beautiful it saying mare -- and we'll be putting this on that to upholstered chairs. That will be on the angle coming off that fireplace but to create a really nice seating area heard those cold winters fire. Two chairs and an --"

Then check the joint to be sure there are no gaps you need to fill before gluing. Apply your glue, then clasp the joint. Be careful not to bruise the wood; use wooden pads if you need to. Wipe off all the excess glue and allow plenty of drying time.
