" But the first question I have for you David sentenced what is for now. Pergo is a high pressure laminate flooring it looks a lot like wood. But it's not as much more durable than would it's made with three layers -- land and it a corps and a -- backing and it's basically sandwiched together with high -- pressure. Okay so now in our situation here that we're looking -- we have. A vinyl going against the -- struggle -- how do you make how to get those two to come together whenever -- installing Pergo flooring you're always funny enough. To another type of flooring whether the vinyl tile or carpet we've made a transition piece for each of those situations in this situation we have vinyl OK so I have a mockup here haven't. And mrs. this is attracted to put down forest that's correct OK and then this is what they call us on this is a transition reducer okay. And so we're just what we're looking at is on the side here you have the vinyl it's correctly but Doug Bunnell right up to the track and transition piece snaps into place right track. And the Pergo -- up right against that and the transition lapse over the -- that's pretty nice -- we watch you do it absolutely. You're going to cut the vinyl and that's gonna blend right up against the track the track we've screwed into the subfloor. And it's his right -- and over the underlayment into the subfloor. And the vinyl butts right up against it. And the Pergo comes right up against the track leaving a quarter inch expansion thick granite knows that this really tight joint right Pergo is 90% would. I also expands and cracks with heat moisture play -- you don't want to -- right around all obstructions when only a quarter inch gap. We've undercut the jams here. Half a meaning we want to put the chance we're gonna place the transition he's underneath the jambs and the Pergo also goes underneath the molding yeah OK. As -- said there's just a piece underneath of the transition and it snaps right into place. Right over the top. The track. -- Well that's good now can you show me how do you put down the rest of the -- We have Chris and -- over here who are just starting the first couple rows of the -- out. And as you can see we have Pergo whisper -- which is the underlayment underneath the floor. That's that's that's these these squares here that's correct they're acoustical squares that. Give the sounds and depth. To the Ferguson death okay. Pergo is a floating floor. Meaning -- floating floor it actually floats over the sub -- not actually glued to the subfloor each of the Pergo planks are glued together there tongue and groove design. So does that mean that the kitchen has got to be in before you can put this material exactly the cabinets have to go in and allows the floor to flip. OK -- to expand -- contract and that's what you want exactly. The reason why the floating floor becomes a popular. Is that people are doing a lot of renovation instead of moving in the new columns right and had this -- you go right over any existing floor that you have whether the violent tile. And the idea is to just put the adhesives on the tongue and groove -- you noted adhere it to the applause exactly take -- glue and you put it in the groove he straps a planks together. As you can see Chris here is using the straps to strap of each flight together. And you can see nice one of glue coming up that means have a nice -- from plank to plank. And that's very important this type of installation. The glue actually makes them powerful bond. Between plank to plank does yes. So the whole floor becomes one piece. Since we're putting this down in the kitchen should we be concerned allow that attendant and the portion of the house is really going to be getting a lot of abuse spills and action Qaeda operatives are very durable floor it's very moisture resistant. Actually comes with a fifteen year triple warranty. It doesn't stain it doesn't fade and doesn't wear for fifteen years. Yeah how does it. Stand up cost wise about -- we're gonna put in conventional wood -- say it's generally little less than hardwood. Miss yes."
