I purchased an Antigua Ceilingfan with light kit. We got everything up and working. When I went to put the cover on the light and turn on the fan it makes the whole light turn along with the fan. Have read both instructions and no help.
I recently installed a ceilingfan/light combo. the fan works fine but the lights don't work. there were two simple connections for the light kit and the pull chain seems to be in working order. did I just get a bad light kit or could something else be causing this paradox ?

the same problem when installin the light kit to this fan. fThe light covering fits so closely to the fan blades that they hit the glass or the light covering turns with the fan!! It is making me nutty and I am wondering

Thanks, Billhart. I found the problem. The blue fan wire was connected to the red house wire in the ceiling box, so I went to the wall switch and saw the red was not connected to the switch. After connecting the red to the switch, the lights worked in the fan.
Had ceilingfan with a circular wall switch that controlled (lo, med, med-hi, and hi). There is no other current light switch on the wall or in the room. Can I install a new slider type single pole switch that will allow me to control both the light and the fan?
